SMS QR Code Generator
A code that opens a text message. Useful for short-code sign-ups, service requests and anything where you want the wording to be exact.
What happens when someone scans it
The messaging app opens with the number and the message already in place. The person presses send, and standard message rates are theirs.
What the code actually contains
SMSTO:+4531214578:Table for two at eight
The SMSTO convention: the word, the number, the message, separated by colons. Both iPhone and Android read it.
How to make one
Enter the receiving number in international format.
Write the message exactly as it must arrive — keywords, codes, reference numbers.
Style it and check the preflight panel.
Export, and test-send one from a real phone.
Fields
numReceiving number
msgPre-filled message (optional)
The point is exact wording
A keyword system fails on typos; the code guarantees the wording arrives exactly, every time, from every poster. The person can still read and edit it before sending.
The sender pays
An SMS goes over the person’s own plan at their normal rate. For most plans that is nothing; for premium short codes, say so next to the code.
Questions
Is the message sent automatically?
No. It is staged in the app; the person sends it.
Does it work internationally?
With the number in +country format, yes — though the sender’s carrier decides what an international text costs them.
How long can the message be?
Keep it to one SMS — about 160 plain characters — both for carrier splitting and because long messages make dense codes.
