Phone Number QR Code Generator

A code that starts a call. The phone brings up the dialler with the number in it, ready to ring.

What happens when someone scans it

The dialler opens with the number filled in. The person presses call; nothing dials by itself.

What the code actually contains

tel:+4531214578

A tel: link. Studio keeps digits and the leading plus and drops spaces and punctuation, so what you print is exactly what phones dial.

How to make one

  1. Enter the number in full international format — plus sign, country code, number.

  2. Style it and check the preflight panel.

  3. Scan it once with a real phone and watch the dialler.

  4. Export.

Fields

  • num

    The phone number

Always the international format

+45 31 21 45 78 dials correctly from a local phone, a tourist’s phone and a desk phone abroad. A local format stops working the moment the scanner has a foreign SIM.

Where it earns its place

Service stickers, vans, shop doors, invoices — anywhere someone would otherwise squint at digits and mistype them.

Questions

Does scanning start the call?

No. It fills the dialler; the person presses call.

Can I include an extension?

Not reliably. Pause and extension syntax is handled differently across phones; print the extension as text next to the code.

Mobile or landline?

Any number that can be dialled works; the code carries digits, not the kind of line.
