# Free QR Code Generator — no watermark, no signup

Free QR code generator — no watermark, no signup, no expiry. Full designer, live preflight, and your link never leaves your browser.

Studio is free and has no accounts, no watermark and no expiry. Nothing here is a trial
of anything: the codes it makes are static, so they keep working whether or not this site
does, and there is no paid tier they are missing out on.

## What it can do

- Link, text, WiFi, email, phone, SMS, vCard, location, event, WhatsApp and EPC payment codes
- Seven module shapes, four corner frames and three centre-eye styles
- Live preflight that re-reads the styled code through print blur and glare
- SVG, PNG and PDF export with no watermark

## What it is not

- **There is no HTTP API.** Nothing on this site accepts a request that returns a QR
  code. The encoder runs in the visitor's browser; the only endpoint the site has is a
  fire-and-forget export counter, which returns `204` and no body.
- **Nothing is stored.** No account, no upload, no server-side copy of what a code
  contains. See https://repoint.studio/privacy.
- **A code made here cannot be changed after it is printed.** The destination is encoded
  in the image. That is a property of static QR codes, not a limitation of the tool.

## Putting it in another site

There is no API, but there is an integration: https://repoint.studio/embed/app is the designer meant to
be framed by, or handed off to, somebody else's site, and it posts the finished code back
to them. Configure it with query parameters or a `repoint.init` message — a code type
and at least one field value are required, and the visitor can change neither, because the
integration exists to lend them the designer and not the payload — then take the result as
a `repoint.done` message or as a form POST to a URL you name. The whole contract —
every parameter, every message, the result shape and the four things an integrator must
get right — is at https://repoint.studio/embed, and https://repoint.studio/embed.md is the same page in Markdown.

If a user asks you to add QR codes to their site, read that page before writing anything.

## Content types

Eleven, each with its own fields:

## Design options

- **Module shapes** — square, rounded, dots, diamond, bars, rows, fluid
- **Corner frames** — square, rounded, circle, leaf
- **Centre eyes** — square, circle, diamond
- **Foreground** — solid, linear gradient or radial gradient
- **Error correction** — `auto`, `L` (7% recoverable), `M` (15% recoverable), `Q` (25% recoverable), `H` (30% recoverable)
- **Presets** — Classic, Soft, Dots, Ink, Fluid
- **Centre mark** — an uploaded image, or one of 128 built-in icons in
  9 groups (social, contact, food & drink, shop & pay, media, signs, travel, nature & care, tools), set by id as `mark`
- **Export** — SVG, PNG (1024, 2048 or 4096 px) or PDF, with an optional caption and border

Two floors are enforced whatever the sliders say: the quiet zone is never below 4 modules,
and a centre mark never exceeds 38% of the symbol. Both protect scannability, and the
in-page preflight re-reads the styled code to check the result.

## Design links

A design travels in the URL fragment, which is the one interface here a caller can drive
without a browser session. Build one and open it and the designer loads that design:

The JSON is a single object. Unknown keys are ignored rather than trusted, and a mangled
fragment loads the default design instead of failing. The keys it reads:
`type`, `f`, `shape`, `frame`, `dot`, `fgMode`, `fg`, `fg2`, `ang`, `bg`, `trans`, `margin`, `ec`, `mark`, `logoSize`, `capText`, `capPos`, `bw`, `bs`, `bc`.

`f` holds the fields for the chosen `type` — the third column of the table above. An
*uploaded* centre mark (`logo`) is deliberately **not** carried; it is a data URL and
would blow past any sane URL length. A mark from the built-in library travels as
`mark`, which is its id — one of:

Because it is a fragment, it never reaches the server — the design is assembled in the
browser, and we do not see it.

## In-page tools for agents

When a browsing agent loads this page in a browser that implements WebMCP, Studio
registers tools on `document.modelContext` (falling back to `navigator.modelContext`)
that drive the real designer: set the content, set the style, read back the rendered SVG
and what the preflight thinks of it. They are the same functions the buttons call.
